The Navy method’s accuracy lives or dies on measurement technique. Follow these rules:
- Neck: Measure just below the Adam’s apple (larynx), with the tape sloping slightly downward at the front. Don’t flare your neck muscles.
- Waist: Men measure at the navel; women at the narrowest point of the torso. Relaxed — not sucked in, not pushed out. Breathe out normally first.
